About the event
A broad look at what Industrial Design is, and what Industrial Designers do. Then a focus on usability and human factors, and how visual and tactile communication can inform how users perceive and understand what a device does, and how it is used.
This presentation will be delivered by Lincoln Black, a senior industrial designer at Tiller Design.
A graduate of Newcastle University, Lincoln’s early career was spent in design consulting developing products for industrial and consumer markets. With a move into the medical device industry, Lincoln specialised in orthopaedic implant and instrument design. Leading a team of designers, he worked closely with clinicians to achieve desired functional, performance and commercial outcomes. He then spent a year in Ireland to establish a second team to better service the US and European markets. Recently, Lincoln has joined Tiller Design to work on ground-breaking medical device design.
