About the event

Interoperability brings together processes, databases, devices and software systems so they can communicate with each other. For active Medical Devices, this is about ensuring devices can be easily connected to a network and share information with healthcare systems. This can enable point of care diagnostics, real-time updating of patient records and more.

In this presentation, we explore the technology required to enable this vision. We look at the different levels of interoperability, the various information exchange standards used in healthcare and the challenges involved in connecting a new device into a health care setting.

In particular, we explore the FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) open standard which has been adopted by the Australian Digital Health Agency for My Health Record, as well as major internationals like Apple, Microsoft and the NHS  in the UK.

This webinar is presented by Fluffy Spider Technologies CEO Robi Karp. FST has a 25 year history of working closely with chipset providers, device manufacturers and service providers to create state-of-the-art software solutions. Its expertise covers USB, Serial and Bluetooth devices alongside eMR systems, FHIR and HL7 protocols and HIPAA compliance.
