About the event
While Active Medical Devices have an electronics component, they are always housed in a physical enclosure and often integrated with specialised medical materials. In this presentation, we examine the process for designing the material aspects of a medical device and developing a scalable manufacturing solution.
The presenting company is Romar Engineering, which is expert in moulding, additive manufacturing, elastomers, silicone technologies and cleanroom manufacturing processes. A key focus on the presentation is the materials selection process and its interrelationship with the choice of manufacturing technique, which is highly dependent on the anticipated production volumes.
Material choices range from elastomers, silicione and soft metals like aluminium and bronze, through to hard engineering metals like Inconel and Hastelloy.
As with all our MedTech webinars, the discuss the core engineering processes in terms of the regulatory compliance challenges and the various standards that apply.
This webinar will be presented by Johnathon Choi, Romar's Director of Biomedical Business.
