About the event
Good design is often overlooked in the process of translational research - which is about turning fundamental scientific or medical research into medical devices or therapies with commercial success.
These complex medical devices often require the interaction of several technologies, subject matter experts, research disciplines and commercial imperatives. Design can play a crucial role in helping coordinate these efforts, delivering a device that is always concerned with patient outcomes and benefits.
As such, design plays a more complex ‘program management’ role than the narrow discipline of the past.
Robert Tiller, CEO of Tiller Design, will discuss some of the projects the company is working on, with some of the leading universities in Australia and how it assists in coordinating these efforts.
